HARRISTON – A local resident has been charged after two residents were bitten by a dog on Wednesday afternoon.

Wellington County OPP officials say police responded to a call for three dogs, owned by one resident, that were running at large ... (in) Harriston" on Oct. 30 at about 4:30pm.

"Members of the public" were bitten, police stated in a Nov. 1 press release.

OPP spokesperson Constable Matthew Burton told the Advertiser two people were bitten, but said he is not sure if it was by the same dog.

A 41-year-old Harriston man was charged with failing to prevent a dog from biting or attacking a person or domestic animal and is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.

Police say the public health unit was notified of the incident.
