Hansen hired as new public works director

The town here has announced Brian Hansen has been hired as its new public works director.

Hansen comes to Minto from the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, where he was the superintendent of operations.

Prior to that position, he was the general manager of operations for the Town of Petrolia. After 20 years in the City of London engineering department, Hansen also ran his own private construction company.

Hansen, who has served as a volunteer firefighter, is a civil engineering technologist out of Fanshawe College and is currently working towards his Bachelor of Arts through distance education.

He said he and his spouse Cheryl Ann are looking forward to relocating to Minto.

Hansen starts with the town on Nov. 15 and replaces Norm Fisk, who is retiring after 36 years of service.

“Norm will be missed, but we are confident that Brian will carry on the strong legacy of quality services in Minto,” said Mayor George Bridge.
