Habitat for Humanity plans two local builds

Habitat for Humanity is back in the township.

After building four homes nine years ago, it is building two more this spring.

The homes are for those who need a “hand up, not a hand out.”

The group is looking for two partner families. Request an application by email at info@habitatwelligton.on.ca. It is confidential.

To give more information to those wanting to become partner families and to volunteer, Habitat for Humanity is holding an information session at the Sportsplex in Fergus from noon to 2pm on Jan. 14.

Habitat builds houses with partner families, using donations in the form of cash, land and goods and services from companies, churches, service clubs and individuals. In the 26 years it has operated in Canada, it has built more than 1,800 homes here and 1,500 overseas.

The Rotary Clubs of Centre Wellington are the lead sponsors (Fergus-Elora, Centre Wellington and Interact).
