Guelph man arrested in luring investigation
GUELPH – A Guelph man has been arrested for luring after Guelph Police followed up on information from investigators in Newfoundland. On March 4, Guelph officers received information from the RCMP.
“An undercover officer in Newfoundland posing as a 15-year-old girl had ongoing chats with a man, who engaged her in sexually explicit conversations and sent pornographic videos and explicit images of himself,” police stated in a March 25 press release.
The previous day “a warrant was executed at a south-end residence,” police say, and a man was arrested and devices were seized as evidence.
A 38-year-old Guelph man is charged with two counts of luring a child under 16 and making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16.
He is to appear in court on June 16.
