Guelph Humane Society holding adoption event this weekend

GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is set to hold an in-person adoption event on Nov. 25 and 26 with the goal to send as many animals “home for the holidays” as possible.

GHS has more than 170 animals in its care and many are ready for adoption.

“We always work hard to match animals with their new families and send them on their happy tail,” stated executive director Lisa Veit in a press release.

The event will be held at GHS’s location at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd. in Guelph.

Small animals are a focus of the even with 21 rabbits and many young Guinea pigs which arrived at the shelter after being found abandoned on the side of the road.

Cats and kittens are aplenty, along with dogs of all ages.

Budgies, lovebirds, and a couple of snakes are also expected.

The adoption event will be held on Nov. 25 from 10am until 7pm and on Nov. 26 from 10am until 1pm.

GHS encourages those interested in attending to pre-book an appointment on the event website to reduce wait times, although drop-ins are welcome.
