Guelph-Eramosa increased water meter fees
Guelph-Eramosa Township council upped the charge for water meters in new houses from $125 to $225 at the June 20 council meeting.
The cost of a water meter installation in new homes was set in 2000 and has not been reviewed since.
“The unit cost of water meters has increased to the point where the water department is not able to recoup the full costs associated with the meters under the current cost schedule,” the report stated.
Council approved the increase in water meter charges.
