Guelph-Eramosa approves one evening, one day meeting per month

BRUCEDALE – Guelph-Eramosa is switching things up next year when it comes to council and committee meetings.

Come February 2019, the regular meetings of council will still be held on the first and third Monday of each month; however, while the first meeting will still be held at 7pm, the second meeting will be held at 1:30pm.

“This schedule change is being proposed as a pilot project for 2019, since one daytime regular council meeting per month is practiced in most municipalities within Wellington County,” the report to council on Dec. 17 stated.

Council also approved the merging of two committees.

Also beginning in February, Guelph-Eramosa will create a committee of the whole by merging the economic development and strategic planning committees.

The committee of whole will meet on the third Wednesday of each month, excluding July and August, at 9:30am.

The economic development and strategic planning committees will be dissolved at each of the final meetings in January.
