Guelph Community Foundation grants EWCS over $1900 for Kids to Camp program

East Wellington Community Services is pleased to announce funding that has been received from the Guelph Community Foundation to help subsidize eligible children’s camp fees to attend various local area summer camps during the months of July and August this year. “This is another way that we work with various funding partners to help those on already limited incomes to help provide their children with an experience that so many of their friends get to participate in as part of summer,” said Erika Westcott, Manager of Community and Volunteer Services.

“We are pleased to have received this funding and our goal is to be able to provide more camp experiences for our client families and other families where affording camp would be a struggle,” said Alyssa Cunningham, Care Coordinator with East Wellington Community Services. “Last year, through the funding received from the Guelph Community Foundation, we were able to provide more than 40 weeks of camp which was a tremendous help to so many of our East Wellington families.”

Parents must complete an application form that clearly demonstrates their need for financial assistance to help afford the registration fees and be a resident within the East Wellington area communities (Erin, Hillsburgh, Orton, Ballinafad, Rockwood or within the Town of Erin and / or Township of Guelph Eramosa.)

The application form will be evaluated, and if funds are granted, the applicant will be notified by East Wellington Community Services with the payment of the fees being made directly to the camp selected. Local area camps include Brighten Up, Everdale’s Farm Camp, Rockwood Conservation…opportunites for camps are endless! Applications are available at the East Wellington Community Services offices (106 Church Street Rockwood or 45 Main Street Erin). If you’d like to speak with someone for more information on this program, call Alyssa (519-833-9696), Barb (519-856-2113) or email info@ew-cs.com. Many camp registrations are open and are filling fast, so you will want to pick up your application as soon as possible so we can make sure that your child doesn’t miss out! Kids to Camp applications may be accepted throughout the summer on a first come, first serve basis for as long as there is funding available.
