Groups hosting Earth Day event

On Earth Day, April 22, the Elora Environment Centre and NeighbourWoods on the Grand are hosting an Earth Day celebration in front of the municipal centre from 5 to 6:30pm.

Face painting, a few short speeches, several information tables, a raffle prize of a Polaroid dual-screen waterproof digital camera thanks to a donation from Canadian Tire Fairway Road, Kitchener, and live music featuring local musician, Matt Giblin will all be part of the event.

Wreckless Eric’s will be serving Vegetarian Chili with fresh bread at the ready for $6. Bring your own bowl, cup and cutlery then it’s just $5.

To highlight the many superhero qualities of trees – adding oxygen, providing shade, slowing storm water run-off, adding such beauty – everyone is urged to come wearing a superhero costume or cape –  Wonder Woman, Batman, Spiderman, Superman, etc. will do – and everyone wearing a costume gets a free ballot for the raffle.
