GRCA seeks feedback on regulatory mapping changes for Conestogo River

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) is currently seeking feedback on proposed changes to its regulatory floodplain mapping under Ontario Regulation 41/24 for the lower Conestogo River, from the Conestogo Dam near Glen Allan to where it meets the Grand River near the Village of Conestogo.

The proposed changes are the result of updated engineered modeling and topographic base mapping.

Two public information meetings (PIMs) will be held.

The first will be virtual on Sept. 22, and the second will be held in person at the Woolwich Memorial Centre, 24 Snyder Ave. S. in Elmira.

Further details regarding the PIMs and how to pre-register can be found at grandriver.ca/lowerconestogoregmappingupdate.ca.

Those interested can also review the proposed mapping on the GRCA website.

Feedback on the proposed changes will be accepted until Oct. 24.
