Grand River Mustang’s Remembrance Day Classic honoured veterans

Remembrance – The Grand River Mustangs U18 ‘B’ team hosted its Remembrance Day Classic on the weekend at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex. At 11am on Nov. 6 they interrupted play to honour war veterans.

Here members of Fergus Legion Branch 275 walk under an arch of hockey sticks for the service. Mustang president Mindy Ferguson said this is the third Remembrance Day Classic for the team (there was no hockey last year) and the response has been very positive, especially as the tournament is sponsored by the Fergus Legion.

“It’s been a wonderful partnership,” she said. Participating with the Mustangs are the Markham-Stouffville Stars.
