Grand opening of new Sportsplex on Sept. 20
It’s been said “If you build it, they will come” - and in Mount Forest they are having a parade to get there.
The grand opening of Mount Forest’s new Sports complex is set for Sept. 20.
Mayor Mike Broomhead recently wrote to area councils inviting them to the event.
“It started with a vision - became a dream - and then a reality,” he said.
The event begins with a parade from the old community centre at 11am to the new complex on Princess Street.
After the parade, an official ribbon cutting and other presentations are set at 12:30pm.
Following that, there will be guided tours and other events, and entertainment.
A gala dinner, dance, and auction top off the event at 6pm.
