GUELPH – The Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) invites the public to its Caribbean Christmas Dinner.
This year it will be a “home edition,” where patrons pre-order their meal, pick it up on Dec. 3, and enjoy the culinary delights at home.
“We are unable to host our annual Caribbean Christmas Dinner and Dance,” organizers stated in a press release. But the add the live event will return in 2023.
The organization will be featuring food by Big Jerk Smokehouse. Each dinner comes with rice & peas, coleslaw and cocktail festival.
There are three options for the main: fried snapper ($45), jerk chicken ($40) or vegan (chickpea and callaloo for $40).
Patrons can also add on dessert and soup if they wish. GBHS merchandise including Lantern Brew Coffee and Dream Makers Tea, is also available.
The menu will also include mango cheesecake for $7 and cup of chicken soup for $4.
Items must be ordered in advance and will be available at the following link until Nov. 30: guelphblackheritage.ca/merchandise.
Pick up time will be Dec. 3 from 3 to 5pm at the Heritage Hall, 83 Essex Street, in Guelph.
Proceeds from the Caribbean Christmas Dinner will go towards the Give a Cup Capital Campaign.
“Free us from our mortgage so that we will be able to allocate additional resources towards our on-going #ChangeStartsNow Education Initiative,” organizers say.
