Graham and Brenda Scroggie were on their way back from Florida, when the unthinkable happened: they were struck by a tire which flew off an on-coming tanker truck as they were travelling on the I-79 in West Virginia.
Graham Scroggie was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries, resulting in financial hardship for the family. They are now asking the community to help Scroggie get back on his feet by coming out to a fundraiser May 24.
The event will be held at the Bridgeport Rod and Gun club, 1229 Beitz Road, Breslau, and will feature an open house BBQ, dance, and silent auction.
The fun begins at 2pm, with games, activities, and live music provided by the Monday Night Jam Club, the Royal City Big Band, and the Trailer’s band.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and kids under two years are free. Each ticket includes a hamburger or hotdog and dessert. Beverages and a cash bar will also be available through the gun club.
Support through attendance, donations, or items for the silent auction are all greatly appreciated and will go a long way to helping Scroggie and his family.
