Fund created to aid local woman hurt in crash

Friends, relatives and community members are rallying around a young local woman who sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash here on April 27.

A 26-year-old Minto resident is recovering in a Hamilton hospital after numerous surgeries for internal injuries sustained in the collision on Wellington County Road 2 just east of Creek Road near Clifford.

“She is on the road to recovery but she has a long road ahead of her,” states a post on a gofundme page started on May 8 by members of the woman’s extended family to help with mounting expenses during what is expected to be a lengthy recovery.

“She has always given back to her community and others … Now she is the one who needs help to get her through this,” the page states.

To support the campaign, which had raised about $5,100 by May 11, go to https://www.gofundme.com/2335z58.
