Fugitive, friend caught

A man and a woman face numerous drug and other charges after they were arrested last week when staff at the Elora Gorge park alerted police the pair was staying at the park in a stolen vehicle.

On Sept. 12 Wellington County OPP were contacted by the warden of the Grand River Conservation Authority at the Elora Gorge.

Police say staff at the park saw a man “that they knew to be a fugitive camping at the park in a stolen car.”

OPP officers, who located meth, heroin, crack, marijuana and the stolen sedan, arrested the man and woman who was with him.

Denis David Donald Hepburn, 27, of Guelph,  was charged with possession of heroin, crack-cocaine and methamphetamine; failing to comply with three court orders; and possession of stolen property over $5,000. He was held for bail.

Ashley Stokman, 23, of Guelph-Eramosa, was  charged with possession of heroin, crack-cocaine and methamphetamine; and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

She is to appear in Guelph court on Oct. 12.
