Frederick Street reconstruction work to begin June 22

Construction of the new Arthur roundabout is set to begin June 22 in conjunction with the reconstruction of Frederick Street this summer.

This means Tucker Street will be a lot busier this summer.

Wellington County roads division construction manager Mark Eby recently emailed the Advertiser to state the county has hired a contractor to complete the reconstruction of Frederick Street (Wellington Road 14) from George St. (Highway 6) to Eliza St. including the intersection of Frederick, Domville and Eliza streets.

Construction of the temporary watermain will begin in mid-June with the road closure starting on June 22.

The contractor will be starting at the George Street end and working towards Eliza Street, which will be kept open until work occurs within the intersection.

A detour route using Tucker Street will be posted for the duration of construction. Work is estimated to be completed at the end of September or beginning of October.

The roundabout at the intersection of Frederick, Domville and Eliza Streets will be completed as a part of this project.  The roundabout will be completed in September with other aspects of the road work.
