Food Rescue Picnic a hit
Sue McPhedron, left, and Morgan Short organized the Food Rescue Picnic. Organizers work with many food organizations in the area to rescue food, cook it, and deliver it to people who are food insecure.

BELWOOD – The Food Rescue Picnic took place on Oct. 14 at the Skol House in Belwood to raise awareness about food waste, and to encourage ways of cooking and eating food before it becomes destined for the garbage.

Bands such as Friday Empire (pictured) entertained visitors and got people dancing.
