Focus on Nature’s board of directors has announced the hiring of Simon Bell, co-founder and former publisher of  SNAP Guelph Newspaper, as its new executive director.

Bell has been involved in the organization from its early days, as both a program consultant and lead instructor.

Bell has authored five children’s nature photography books, published by Somerville House Books.

Focus on Nature delivers full-day workshops in local classrooms that work to inspire young people to explore and appreciate local natural areas as photographers.

Led by teams of professionally trained volunteers, our hands-on photography activities, walking photography field trips, and photo editing and sharing sessions give students the opportunity to explore their creative potential, and see nature from a new perspective, as photographers, with eyes wide open and a heightened focus.

For more information on Focus on Nature, contact Simon Bell at simon@focusonnature.ca, or Shirley Hunt at shirley@focusonnature.ca.
