Flesherton man facing meth, illegal cigarette charges

WELLINGTON NORTH – A Flesherton man is facing meth and illegal cigarette charges after  being pulled over by police for speeding.

On Feb. 15 at about 2am, a Wellington County OPP officer allegedly clocked a grey sedan on radar traveling about 135km/h in an 80km/h zone along Wellington Road 16, in Wellington North. 

“The officer conducted a traffic stop. Upon further investigation, officers located approximately 34,000 unmarked cigarettes, as well as suspected methamphetamine,” police stated in a press release. 

Christopher Michael Farrugia, 39, of Flesherton, was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine), possession of unmarked cigarettes, stunt driving and speeding. He is to appear in court on April 11.
