Five-year sentence in home invastion case

A Waterloo man convicted in connection with a violent home invasion and sexual assault two years ago has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Grant Litt, 24, of Waterloo, was convicted this spring of breaking and entering, sexual interference and choking.

At about 4pm on May 25, 2016 Hamilton Police responded to a residence in the area of Highway 6 and Gore Road in Flamborough – just south of the Puslinch border.

Police say a 911 caller reported that an unknown man had knocked on the door of a home, forced his way inside and sexually assaulted a 15-year-old female resident.

In December of that year, police charged Litt in connection with the violent crime. Litt, who was unknown to the victim at the time of the attack, had been out on bail since then.
