Firefighters respond to Rockwood house fire on April 9

Guelph-Eramosa firefighters responded to a structure fire on April 9 at about 2:30pm on Highway 7 here.

“When we arrived, there was smoking coming from the rear of the house,” deputy fire chief Jim Petrik said.

“We identified some smouldering contents in the back room.”

Firefighters removed the contents and the fire did not extend into the rest of the house. After ventilating the building the scene was cleared at about 4pm and turned over to the owner.

Petrik said the cause of the fire is undetermined and no one was injured.
