Fire department offers Safety Days

On May 31 and June 1, from 9am to 3pm, the Minto Fire Department has planned two separate Safety Days here.

Firefighters have invited the Minto Safe Community Committee and the Wellington County OPP to join the event.

Planned activities include a child restraint clinic titled “Buckle Up Bears” at the Harriston Fire Hall, sponsored by Co-operators Insurance,  on June 1 from 9am to 1pm.  Appointments can be booked through Marilyn Koch at the Palmerston OPP Operations Centre by calling 519-343-5770.

There will be a pancake breakfast on June 1, at the Harriston-Minto Community Centre.

Over both days the community centre will host the following:

- the fire safety house;

- an OPP roll-over simulator;

- the OPP Mounted Unit;

- OPP ATVs;

- a bike rodeo;

- booths from local community groups.
