Fergus resident confronts man in her home

An Orangeville man has been charged after a Fergus woman came home last weekend to find an unknown man in her house.

On April 8 at about 9:20pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a reported break-in on Tait Crescent in Fergus.

“A female had returned home to discover a male in her residence. When she confronted him, he left the house quickly,” police stated in a press release.

Wellington County OPP officers, with help from the Emergency Response Team, canine unit and the public, were able to locate the suspect at a residence on Flannery Drive in Fergus.

Scott Lemos, 30, of Orangeville, was charged with break and enter and failing to comply with a probation order.

He is to appear in Guelph court on May 23.
