Family Day Fun Fest held

MOUNT FOREST – A Winter Family Fun Fest on Saturday was among the first of many activities planned by the Mount Forest BIA this year. The free event was well attended despite snow flurries and chilly temperatures.

Activities included street hockey, a vendor market, live music, outdoor games, fire pits, a scavenger hunt, Touch a Truck, and homemade food by Magpies Bakery.

Kailyn Cudney, administrative coordinator for  the Mount Forest BIA, was pleased with the turnout. “This is our first year ever for the event. We expect it to grow,” she said.

Despite snow flurries and bone chilling temperatures, the ball hockey tournament at Mount Forest’s Winter Family Fun Fest was a popular activity. Six members of the Mount Forest Patriots hockey team were on hand to help organize the games.

North Wellington Fire Services members Don Golchuk, Jeremy Benn, Miranda Corfield and Noel Black kept the fires burning during the Winter Family Fun Fest in Mount Forest on Feb. 17. Participants were able to warm up by three fire pits after partaking in activities in the cold during the one-day event.
