Extra toll road for Mount Forest Kinsmen
Drivers might need to take extra care driving through Mount Forest during some holiday weekends.
Council has agreed to a second toll lane for collection which means not only will north-south traffic on Highway 6 be affected, but east-west traffic on Highway 89.
Paul Barnard, risk manager, of the Mount Forest Kinsmen Club, wrote the club sought to return to its previous model, and collect along both highways.
Barnard noted the club’s intent is to operate the second collection zone only on the Friday evening.
On Saturday, the only collection would be along Highway 6.
“While our present format is working very well, the addition of a second collection zone would enhance our revenue.”
Councillors had little comment about the request and it passed quickly.
