The town of Erin is looking for volunteers to sit on a fundraising committee and a building committee for a new town medical building.

Mayor Rod Finnie said the goal is to move up construction of a new building - expected to be at least 8,500 square feet in size - so it is completed by the end of next year at the latest.

Finnie said the town recently received a letter of interest from a resident volunteering to help establish a fundraising committee.

“This will help demonstrate to the county that it’s a top priority for our community,” Finnie said.

Councillor Barb Tocher said the letter is encouraging News because with similar projects in the past, town residents have proved they are “superior fundraisers.”

Finnie said anyone wanting to join either committee can contact him.

His number at the town is 519-855-4407 ext. 232.
