Erin man faces sexual assault, child porn charges in incidents involving a minor
WELLINGTON COUNTY - An Erin man is facing numerous charges, including sexual assault of a minor and possessing child pornography, in connection with a series of incidents that occurred over an eight-year period.
Wellington County OPP announced on July 22 that it started an investigation earlier in the month into "historical sexual assaults and other sex-related offences" that occurred in Erin and Centre Wellington between 2007 and 2014.
"The victim at the time was a minor and the accused and the victim were known to each other," police stated.
Steven Bobbie Brook, 60, of Erin, is charged with:
- sexual assault on a person under age 16;
- invitation to sexual touching on a person under 16;
- sexual interference;
- sexual exploitation;
- counselling suicide;
- administering a noxious substance;
- possession of child pornography; and
- making sexually explicit material available to a person under the age of 14.
The accused is to appear in Guelph court on Sept. 29.
