Erin man charged with sexually assaulting, giving cannabis to minor

WELLINGTON COUNTY – An Erin man has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault against a minor.

In a Jan. 12 press release, Wellington County OPP officials stated police started an investigation in December into reported sexual assaults between May and September at a home in Wellington County.

A 58-year-old from Erin was charged with four counts of sexual assault on a person under 16, four counts of sexual interference and two counts of committing an indecent act, as well as providing cannabis to a person under 18.

The accused was held for bail, police say.

The person charged was not identified, which often happens in such cases in order to protect the identity of the victim.
