Erin Legion organizes memorial service to honour Queen Elizabeth II
Service for the Queen – The Erin Legion held a Cenotaph ceremony in Remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II on the evening of Sept. 19th. The Reverend Deacon Irene Walback, Legion Chaplain, conducted the ceremony with an inspiring remembrance of the late Queen. Following the national anthem and sounding of the Last Post, Erin mayor Allan Alls gave a short address, then placed a wreath on behalf of the Erin Legion Branch 442 at the base of a large photograph of the Queen. Following the cenotaph service, Legion members and the 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron Air Cadets, who attended the cenotaph service, also participated in the ringing of the bells at All Saints' Anglican Church, which rang out 96 times in tribute to the Queen's 96 years.
