ERIN – The weekly farmers’ market at McMillan Park in Erin village is looking for volunteers to support the project in 2019.

This is the ninth year for the market, which will run on Fridays 3-7pm from June 28 to Sept. 27.

It is an outlet for locally-grown seasonal food and artisan wares, and a community meeting place.

New committee members are being sought to help build awareness, engagement and value to the community.

There is also a need for a market manager (or two co-managers) to provide weekly coordination, along with volunteers to greet visitors and provide support.

“By getting involved in our local Erin market, you will be part of a positive venture that helps builds and support your local community,” said Bridget Ryan.

“A few hours each month can make a big difference right where you live.”

The Erin market has partnered with local organizations to promote rural heritage and seasonal events, and support local musicians.

In the past, businesses have sponsored and hosted kids’ events and food tasting demonstrations.
