Erin council cost almost $102,000

With financial figures tallied, including expenses, the cost of Erin councillors came in at just shy of $102,000.

The mayor’s Erin salary is listed in council remuneration documents at $25,676, but he also earned $39,250 (salary plus expenses) as member of county council.

The figures provided within the Erin agenda package also did not include additional remuneration for councillors who  sit on other boards or committees.

Examples would include councillor John Brennan and Mayor Lou Maieron, who received compensation as board members of the Grand River Conservation Authority and Credit Valley Conservation authority respectively (neither was included as part of the remuneration information).

Brennan represents the municipalities of Erin, Guelph-Eramosa and Puslinch with the GRCA, while last year Maieron was a vice-chairman of Credit Valley Conservation.
