Erin Air Cadets helping their community

The 242 Ross Ferguson Air Cadets just finished the squadron’s second annual food drive over the past several weeks.

Food was collected from the cadet and staff families and delivered to the ECWS Food Bank at Centre 2000 on Dec. 10.

The food collected has helped restock the food bank shelves in preparation for the upcoming holiday season needs and into the New Year.

The East Wellington Community Services does great work making sure the needs of our community are met.

The cadets were able to see firsthand how important the food bank is in helping meet these needs. They have seen the physical set up of the food bank and were happy to help Alyssa Cunningham, Care Coordinator get things ready for the coming weeks.

As part of the Air Cadet Training Program, cadets learn to be good citizens.  This was one event to support this aspect of the program.

By collecting food for EWCS and assisting at the food bank cadet experience being able to help those in need. For more information on our Erin Air Cadets visit our website at www.242erinaircadets.com.

Through the food bank, EWCS organization provides food to those in crisis.

Individuals and/or families receive enough food support to assist them for a four-week period and it is intended to help supplement what they are able to provide for themselves.

ECWS also provides emergency support to those experiencing an immediate crisis in the community such as a house fire, emergency relocation, etc.
