Saddle up for the Elora Horse and Hound Parade on Nov. 3, from 1 to 4pm, beginning and ending in the grounds of the Elora Mill Inn.
Gather in the grounds at 1pm to hear the call of the hunstmen and join in the “Stirrup Cup” toast.
Fifty riders in full dress attire, accompanied by an uncountable number of hounds will then move off east along Mill Street, making a “stirrup stop” at the corner of Geddes and East Mill. Riders and hounds then head north on Geddes to MacDonald Square where another rest stop will offer a chance for spectators to take photos and mingle with the animals.
Entirely downtown, the parade continues north on Geddes Street, turns west on David, with the return route skirting Victoria Park, and finishing in the grounds of the Elora Mill Inn. Once there, Mill owners, Landmark Group will warm up hearts and bellies with fine British fare available for purchase, along with traditional hot tea and scones served by Bentley’s Fine Teas.
This is a non-sporting event and 100 per cent of the profits go directly to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus.
Come out to show support for the local hospital, the Eglinton and Caledon Hunt Club and local stakeholders who made hosting this event possible.
