Volunteer board members have dusted off the pine pews and polished the gothic windows of historic Ellis Chapel in anticipation of the 1st summer service on June 22 at 2:30pm.
George Garrett will lead a spirited program of country and gospel music, joined by Four Guys and a Gal.
Following the service, the popular tradition of refreshments in the chapel garden will continue, featuring Helen’s now-famous butter tarts. The chapel is located at 6705 Ellis Road in Puslinch Township. Directions are found at www.ellischapel.ca.
Additional afternoon services will be held on July 20: Keith Marcy, Farmer/Lay Preacher, Valens; on Aug. 17: Pastor Melissa Richer, Crossroads Brethren in Christ Church, Puslinch; and on Sept. 21: Rev. Wendy Brown, Harcourt memorial United Church, Guelph. A closing concert is planned for Sept. 26 at 7:30pm featuring two young energetic quartets, rising stars in Ontario barbershop circles – Young Guns Quartet and Shoptimus Prime Quartet.
Everyone is invited to attend these community services and programs.
