Editor's message
With the retirement of columnists comes change.
We have been happy to share space on our editorial pages with Barrie Hopkins and Bruce Whitestone. Over several decades, both men have educated, entertained and, on occasion, annoyed us. It was their job.
As we head into 2017, we will be making changes. Our Newsroom, the largest editorial staff in this area, is full of talent ranging from the young to very experienced.
Starting this week, we will face off in Split Decision, a new weekly column that tackles two sides of local, national or international issues of import to our readers.
It will offer thought-provoking commentary not possible through editorials alone that aligns with our goal of providing insight that goes beyond “the five W’s.”
