Duke visits council
Duke visits council - Warden George Bridge looks on with interest as actor Gary Bryant, portraying the Duke of Wellington, made an appearance at the June 25 Wellington County council meeting in recognition of the 175th anniversary of the proclamation that created the District of Wellington. Among the suggestions the Duke offered council were the creation of a larger and more prominently located statue in his honor, and a military campaign to retake Waterloo Region, which was part of the original district.
