WELLINGTON NORTH – An Elora man has been charged after the driver of a pickup tried to evade police recently.

On April 8 at about 10pm, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, south of Arthur, when a blue pickup truck was observed travelling above the posted 80km/hr speed limit.

“A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle failed to stop for police,” states an OPP press release. “Shortly thereafter the vehicle was located stopped on a dead-end road.”

Daniel Scott Leslie, 21, of Elora, was charged with driving without insurance, failing to stop for police, speeding and driving without a valid permit. He is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
