GUELPH/ERAMOSA -A 51-year-old Guelph resident has been charged with careless driving after allegedly reaching for a banana, and crashing into a tree.

On the morning of July 30, Wellington County OPP responded to a crash on Highway 7 in Guelph/Eramosa after, police say, a driver crossed the centre line, drove into a ditch and crashed into a tree.

According to police, the driver said they lost control after reaching for a banana. The person was taken to hospital.
