Driver and passenger charged
On Feb. 1, at about 5:40am, Wellington County OPP located a vehicle with reported stolen licence plates on Elora Street, in Harriston.
Officers spoke with the male passenger and female driver. While determining identities of the two parties the male party initially falsely identified himself to police. Further investigation revealed that the male passenger was in breach of conditions of a previous release.
Petranella Downes, 52, of North Huron, has been charged with possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5,000. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on March 6.
Sidney Weldon Prince, 44, of Brampton, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, fail to comply with recognizance and fail to comply with undertaking. He was held for bail.
