Donating pennies makes good community "cents"
A penny for your thoughts...?
While many expressions may be ending with the loss of the penny, East Wellington Community Services is launching a drive to collect those lucky pennies to make good community cents in support of local programs and services.
Residents are urged to drag all those pennies out of their hiding places and to donate them at the EWCS office and stores in Rockwood (106 Church Street) and Erin (45 Main Street).
From there, the pennies will be rolled and deposited for use toward the food bank, seniors and children’s program, community outreach and more.
The penny drive for community cents is on, and organizers are urging the local community to pitch in.
