Do you know a watershed hero?
They’re the individuals, families, groups and businesses that put their time, energy and sometimes money into improving the environment in the Grand River watershed.
The Grand River Conservation Authority wants to acknowledge these citizens and is looking for nominations for its annual Watershed Awards.
The GRCA has presented the awards since 1976.
There are two categories of awards:
- Watershed Awards for outstanding examples of conservation and environmental work; and
- Honour Roll Awards for a sustained record of achievement over an extended period of time.
Nominations can come from anyone in the watershed. The deadline for nominations is May 31.

The winners will be honoured at an event in the fall.
