Diner break-in, theft

Police are investigating a break-in and theft at a local eatery over the Canada Day long weekend.

On July 3 at about 7:17am Wellington County OPP officers received a report of break-in at the Moorefield Diner on McGivern Street in Moorefield.

Police say the suspect(s) entered the business through the rear door sometime between July 2 at 2pm and July 3 at 7:15am. Money was stolen from the cash register.

The OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit is assisting uniform officers with the investigation.
