Dekorte in court next month in sexual assault case
A former Elora Road Christian School principal is expected to appear in court in December.
Arend “John” Dekorte was charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 16 in January. Police say the “alleged sexually-related offences against minors” took place between 1981 and 1986 at the church and school, which are located on the same property on Wellington Road 7 north of Guelph.
Dekorte appeared at a preliminary hearing on Nov. 15 and 16 at the Ontario Court of Justice. The evidence presented at the hearing is under a publication ban.
In January Dekorte told the Wellington Advertiser the allegations were untrue.
“I’m completely innocent,” Dekorte said on Jan. 17.
He is to appear in the Ontario Superior Court on Dec. 19.
