Committed environmentalists in our communities are working hard to protect the local environment for future generations and Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) will recognize these champions at its annual Friends of the Credit Conservation Awards on Mar. 20.
“Protecting the environment is a tough job,” said Mike Puddister, CVC director of restoration and stewardship.
CVC’s Friends of the Credit Conservation Awards program has been active since 1986.
It recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the health of the Credit River, the local environment and the community.
The awards are conferred on individuals, community groups, schools, businesses, governments and agencies.
A wide variety of activities are eligible. Awards can recognize one-time environmentally focused projects or those that have extended over multiple years. Tickets are $45 and guests are asked to register by March 13 by visiting www.friendsofthecreditawards2013.eventbrite.ca or contact Lindsey Jennings at 905-670-1615 ext. 445 or ljennings@creditvalleyca.ca.
