Current and future council reps discuss future for Town of Erin

It was an unusual yet seemingly effective approach, as current and future councillors had a chance to hash things out on items affecting Erin’s future.

While current councillors occupied the seats at the front of the chamber, their replacements were in the front row of the audience last week.

As the meeting began, Erin Mayor Lou Maieron welcomed all the guests, especially the  newly-elected members of council.

CAO Kathyrn Ironmonger noted members of the incoming council were invited specifically to be present for, and also possibly provide input on, discussions as to the town’s operational review and future  economic development plans.

It’s an approach that seemed to work, as both groups had different ideas and opinions to bring to the discussion.

Maieron told presenters that council was in the midst of a transition period and that there would be questions from both current and future councillors.
