County OPP to celebrate 10 years in centenary year
The Wellington County OPP will mark its 10th anniversary at the same time the Ontario Provincial Police mark 100 years in the province.
Police Services Board liaison Lynda White told county council on April 30 that there will be a double celebration of the OPP anniversaries on May 31 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, in Fergus, from 1:30 to 5pm.
A feature attraction for the show is the OPP’s Golden Helmets motorcycle precision team, which will perform a show on Scotland Street south of Belsyde Avenue.
As well, the Mount Unit, Canine Unit, OPP helicopter, rollover simulator, and OPP Command Centre will be part of numerous policing and community displays.
The celebration is free and all are invited.
