County credit rating is good News for Puslinch

It turns out that good News for Wellington County can be good News for lower tier municipalities too.

Recently, Puslinch councillors were updated by county treasurer Ken DeHart on Wellington County re-affirming its ‘AA’ credit rating from Standard & Poor’s with a stable outlook.

A research update release indicated the County’s credit rating is currently better than the Province of Ontario, which has a ‘AA-’ credit rating with a negative outlook.

This should mean that we should be able to borrow competitively with whatever the province is offering.

Mayor Dennis Lever said “it is good News for the township because we do borrow money through the county and it gets a good rate which is passed on.”
