ELORA – The countdown is on!
Get ready to be immersed in a world of artistic wonder as the Elora Fergus Studio Tour is less than a month away.
This year’s tour promises an exciting lineup of 35 studios, each offering a distinct artistic perspective and showcasing a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, pastels, wood, glass, pottery, weaving, jewellery, and mixed media.
The Elora Centre for the Arts, where we suggest you start your artistic journey, will display a showpiece by each artist.
The tour runs 10am to 5pm over two weekends – Sept. 23 to 24 and Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 – and includes studios in Elora, Fergus and surrounding areas.
An opening reception is slated for Sept. 14, 7 to 9pm at the Elora Centre for the Arts, 75 Melville St., Elora.
This year, the Elora Fergus Studio Tour is proud to partner with Ontario Culture Days, an annual province-wide celebration of arts, culture, and heritage.
Culture Days programs invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes, demonstrating the importance of arts and culture in our communities.
Highlights of the Elora Fergus Studio Tour 2023 include:
– Intimate Studio Visits: Gain insight into the artistic process and explore the motivations, techniques, and stories behind the artworks as you engage directly with the artists;
– Live demonstrations: Each day of the tour features three live artist demonstrations, revealing the process behind their creations;
– A $500 Giveaway: Newly-designed ballot offers multiple chances to win a $500 gift certificate to use towards art at any of the studios; and
– New, eye-catching signage: The colourful and distinct composition reflects the broad range of artistic mediums and styles it represents.
