Cops’ benefit game aids area Special Olympics

The eighth annual Constable Jay Pirie memorial hockey game will be played on Jan. 10 with the Guelph Police No-Stars taking to the ice to battle the Guelph Storm Junior A hockey club in a charity hockey game.

To date, the event has raised over $38,000 for the Guelph-Wellington Special Olympics.

The game is scheduled from noon to 2pm and will be held at the Sleeman Centre.

There will be a “skate with the Storm” event after the game where attendees can don their skates and come onto the ice and skate with both teams and get autographs.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the game, or contact Sergeant Douglas Pflug at 519-824-1212 extension 253 or douglas.pflug@police.
